Pet Pro (Dog Day Care/Dog Kennel, Pet Lover) - Full Time

Scottsdale, AZ

This position requires someone with a love and passion for dogs. Ideal applicant will have experience with dogs in either a daycare or kennel setting. Position is physically demanding (Applicant must be capable of lifting 70lbs), requires extensive cleaning, and focused supervision of dogs at all times. The facility is open seven days a week, and scheduled hours could fall anywhere between 6am to 7pm. Must be willing to work weekends and some holidays. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional interaction with clients. May need to check dogs in or out of daycare services.
  • Assist in the process of evaluating dogs for safety care groups according to the requirements determined by the program coordinator.
  • Supervise daycare groups in the outdoor and indoor play areas. Assist in selection of group participants.
  • Be observant about behavioral health issues concerning daycare dogs, and report abnormalities to the facility manager.
  • Ensure the pets are fed, kept clean and comfortable during their stay and bathed.
  • Take care of play times and move dog to the daycare wing as scheduled on the kennel cards.
  • Ensure the pets are kept clean and comfortable during your boarding stay and bathe them as indicated on kennel card before departure.
  • Be observant about behavior and health issues concerning boarding pets.
  • Administer medication to pets as noted on kennel cards and medication cards.
  • Prepare food and feed animals on the schedule is dictated by pet owner
  • Clean indoor and outdoor play yard’s daily and more often as needed.
  • Clean pool and pool room, hallways, food prep areas, and utility areas daily.
  • Take care of laundry and trash removal in all daycare areas daily.
  • Ensure that pet belongings and food provided by owners are in the appropriate locations.
  • Perform daily, monthly and other appropriate maintenance on equipment used in daycare area.
  • Move dogs to from the boarding areas to the daycare areas as necessary.
  • Inventory and request supplies as needed.
  • Attend safety meetings and other staff meetings and events as requested.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and regulations are specified by the company.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in the proper handling techniques of dogs and cats preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a facility team in a positive manner.
  • Physical ability to work in a demanding environment where extensive bending, twisting and squatting are required. Must be able to lift 70 pounds from floor to chest on a routine basis and carry for 25 feet. Grip strength must be strong.
  • Be respectful and positively responsive to the overall needs of operations, clients and pets, and support company policies.
  • Must enjoy working with domestic pets of all breeds and personality types who participate in our daycare and kennel programs.

Professional Pet Groomer

Scottsdale, AZ

This position requires someone with a love and passion for dogs. Applicant must have experience and professional training with dog grooming. Position is physically demanding (Applicant must be capable of lifting 50lbs), requires extensive skill, passion, and focused precision of each groom. The facility is open seven days a week, and scheduled hours will be determined by the groomer and the facility coordinator according to grooming demand. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use the computer system to make grooming appointment; communicate with clients and receive their instructions when they deliver their pets for grooming; enter pricing and notes in the computer system upon completion of groom; and present animals to their owners at the time of checkout.
  • Call clients as necessary to ensure important appointments are met.
  • Be knowledgeable and promote any and all services provided by the business and to all clients to whom you have contact with. This includes daycare, training, boarding and retail services, etc.
  • Handle and respond to grooming questions from clients and staff members.
  • Provide a full spectrum of grooming services for dogs and cats. This includes bathing, brushing, medicated baths, expressing anal glands, Coke conditioning, demanding, drawing, cleaning the errors, trimming and grinding nails, and special treatment as requested or necessary.
  • Ensure the safety of pets while in our care for grooming by minimizing drying time, handling animals in a calm and humane manner, providing drinking water, and walking them following service (or as needed) so they may relieve themselves.
  • Work as a team to maintain a standard of cleanliness and organization in a safe work environment and all grooming areas including entrances and indoor/outdoor walkways, relief areas outdoors, reception areas, bathing/dry and laundry areas, finishing rooms and all cage is used by groomers, break rooms and bathrooms.
  • Take care of laundry and trash removal and all grooming areas daily.
  • Perform daily maintenance on equipment such as dryers and shop vaccs, monthly maintenance such as flushing Hydro Surge bathing systems, and routine care of all plants and grooming areas.
  • Notify the facility manager when repairs to company on equipment are necessary.
  • Prepare the daily grooming log for the reception staff, and weekly grooming record and timesheet for accounting.
  • Inventory and order samples (MSDSs) as needed and coordinate orders with the facility manager.
  • Ensure that secondary containers are labeled, labels remain intact on original containers and MSDS sheets are on file for every product using all grooming areas.
  • Attend safety meetings and other staff meetings and events as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in the proper handling techniques of dogs and cats while grooming.

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Physical ability to work in a demanding environment and lift a minimum of 70 pounds from floor to chest.

Professional Dog Trainer

This position requires someone with a love and passion for dogs. Applicant must have extensive experience with dog training in either an individual or group setting. Position is physically demanding (Applicant must be capable of lifting 50lbs), requires extensive skill, passion, and focused supervision of dogs at all times. The facility is open seven days a week, and scheduled hours will be determined by the trainer and the facility coordinator according to training demand. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • May be asked to educate daycare attendance about dogs behavior, dog aggression, group play, etc.
  • Occasionally train daycare attendants to identify daycare dogs that might benefit from training and other services we provide independent from daycare.
  • Perform behavioral assessment of dogs.
  • Conduct dog/client training.
  • Develop high-quality obedience and dog programs for clients and the dogs.
  • Stay current with training trends to increase and enhance our offerings to clients.
  • Determine equipment needs for training programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess strong dog handling skills.
  • Extensive dog training experience.
  • Highly experienced in reading dog body language and assessing dog behavior.
  • Passion for teaching people and teaching animals with a dedication to excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and lead team effort.
